Wood Partners Breaks Ground on Alta Newnan Crossing Mixed Use Community in Newnan Georgia

National multifamily developer Wood Partners has broken ground on Alta Newnan Crossing, a mixed-use community in Newnan, Georgia. The project will deliver 274 apartment units, seven three-bedroom, two-bath townhomes with two-car garages, and 7,700 square feet of street-level retail. Completion is expected in fall 2027.

“Alta Newnan Crossing is designed to bring a new level of residential living to Newnan through a thoughtful mix of housing, amenities and connectivity,” said Bennett Sands, Executive Managing Director at Wood Partners. “This community will complement the way residents want to live today while bringing much-needed housing to this growing city.”

Apartment offerings will include one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. Community amenities are planned to include a clubhouse, state-of-the-art fitness room, package room, co-working space, a retail courtyard and a resort-style pool and courtyard. The site also will provide direct connectivity to the LINC Trail, Newnan’s multi-use path system.

Newnan has shown recent population growth, increasing 9.5 percent since the 2020 census and growing at an annual rate of 1.47 percent, according to World Population Review. The city sits approximately 40 miles southwest of Atlanta with direct access to Interstate 85, providing connectivity to Atlanta, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and regional employment centers.

Alta Newnan Crossing is Wood Partners’ second project in Newnan following the June 2023 completion of Alta Ashley Park, a 269-unit community. The new development continues a pattern of suburban multifamily investment focused on providing diverse housing types, amenity-driven resident experiences and local connectivity.
